Golf in South Africa

South Africa is a golfing paradise, blessed with abundant sunshine, some of the finest, most scenic courses to be found anywhere and very affordable green fees.  In addition, the climate guarantees year round golfing conditions whether in and around Cape Town, Kwa Zulu Natal or further north at the higher altitude locations of Johannesburg and Sun City.  Cape Town hosts a wide selection of courses, from established parklands to links layouts, many overlooked by imposing Table Mountain.  Heading east along the coast, the 'Garden Route' offers a further golfing contrast with renowned championship courses such as Fancourt, Arabella and Pezula.  An interesting add-on is provided by the the proximity of the malaria-free game reserves of the Eastern Cape.  The sub-tropical Indian Ocean coastline of Kwa Zulu Natal should also figure highly on any golfers agenda.  Inland, lie the historic sites of battle and conflict: from Spion Kop to Rorkes Drift.
